Merit making and congratulatory homage for Luang Pu Nenkham Chattigo’s birthday anniversary, September 17-18, 2009
A large congregation of Buddhists from throughout Thailand and several foreign countries travelled to join a merit making ceremony and pay congratulatory homage for Luang Pu Nenkham Chattigo, head of the Sangha of Wat Pa Khanti Dhamma and Chairman of Moral and Quality of Life Promotion Foundation, on his birthday anniversary. The activity was organized at Wat Pa Khanti Parami branch 1, Tambon Saimoon, Amphor Pibun Mungsaharn, Ubol Ratchathani province. People lit thousands of candles as a blessing gesture for Luang Pu. They later listened to his Dhamma discourse, then following morning gave foods to monks. Some devoted followers also donated 3 Mercedez Benz model E200 cars to Luang Pu for use in his propagation of Buddhist Dhamma. People also joined an auspicious first piling ceremony for theconstruction of Sunandha Maha Vihara Dhamma Sala, a pavillion estimated to cost over 1,500 million Baht. Read more… See all pictures…

Luang Pu Nenkham Chattigo traveled to give a Dhamma discourse at Wat Suralai

On past August 6, 2009, the venerable Luang Pu Nenkham Chattigo, head of the Sangha of Wat Pa Khanti Dhamma, Amphor Kanthrarom, Sisaket province, and Chairman of Moral and Quality of Life Promotion Foundation, traveled to give a Dhamma discourse at Wat Suralai, Ban Sah Khai Nam, Tambon Phon Thong, Chaiya Bhumi province. A large group of Sangha, his layperson followers, and the entourage of Khun Mae Sunandha Leelerdbhandhu, president of Twin Lotus Co. Ltd., accompanied him. This temple has Pra-Athikarn Preecha Jaruwanno as the abbot.
The organized discourse by Luang Pu was to commemorate a newly constructed monks’ living quarter, named Kuti Sammakkhi Dhamma Summadhitthi Anusorn year ‘52. A large number of local people attended the discourse. The venerable Luang Pu told the people of his past, when he was ordained as a young novice and decided to started his solitary trekking (which would last for many years) in the mountainous jungle of Phu Phan, in order to fully appreciate Dhamma. He also told
of his nowadays’ decision to come out and propagate Dhamma to the public. He wanted all Buddhists to have full conscious, keep up with one’s own ever changing emotion, aware of the thinking, so that they don’t adhere to the body nor Sangkhara (mental elements other than the feeling of pleasure/displeasure, the memory, the sensing), and they would see Dhamma with their inner eyes. He talked for over 1 hr, and gave a chance for people to donate some money. For the occasion,
people also donated a Fortuner SUV for head of Sangha for Ubol Ratchatani province. After that Luang Pu Nenkham joined Luang Pu Chandra Anakulo of Khao Joom Jong Meditation Center, Amphor Ban Khwao, Chaiya Bhumi, in anointing of new Kuti before traveled back to Wat Pa Khanti Dhamma, Srisaket province. A house in L.A.was offered to Luang Pu
It’s a good opportunity for Buddhists in U.S.A.to welcome Luang Pu and learn to meditate with his venerable, who truly devotes himself to extend Buddhism to 5,000 years. The trip to have Dhamma spread around the world began at L.A. has been accomplished since people have really got benefit of the Lord Buddha’s Dhamma. Not only Thai people accept Dhamma of the Enlighten One, but many people in other countries are good devotees also. Buddhism is for all. Those Dhamma that many beings had learned and made them enlighten since the former period of Buddhism to the present time is pristinely pure. Dhamma always make the world peaceful forever.The more hospitable people have their minds purify, the more pleasant and happy to this world.
By the way, this must be a history trip abroad because disciples here in L.A. gave a house to his venerable in order to establish a new branch meditation centre and also donated 35 million Baht to build the Emerald Buddha Image (replica). Anumodhana to all merits.

Luangpu was asked to teach Vipassana Meditation at USA.
Luang Pu had accepted an invitation to travel overseas and give Vipassana meditation training in the USA. A large number of people came to listen to his Dhamma discourse and practised meditations, including mantra chanting, sitting meditation, standing meditation, walking meditation, and lie down meditation. It is admirable that people in such a far-away land have heartfelt interest in the teaching of Lord Buddha and attentively practised what was instructed by Luang Pu. Apparently, Buddhists from different corners of the World have faith in the same Dhamma, the enlighten mind, as their ultimate mental sanctuary. See all pictures…
